Passionate. Dedicated. Professional.

"I am a geriatric pharmacotherapy specialist and aging brain researcher who appreciates the interprofessional relationships supported by IGS. Since IGS was incorporated, I have served in various leadership positions including president. Throughout my experience, IGS has highlighted the strength of geriatrics as a healthcare specialty. Like-minded professionals, especially those in non-traditional roles, join IGS to dialogue and ascertain best practices—a fundamental goal of IGS from its inception. My involvement in IGS demonstrates my commitment to high-quality care for older adults and to the advancement of healthcare."

Noll Campbell, PharmD, MS

Assistant Professor, Purdue University College of Pharmacy
Investigator, Regenstrief Institute Center for Aging Research

The Indiana Geriatrics Society (IGS) was incorporated in 2007 with the goal of providing opportunities for members to network, learn, problem solve and provide optimum geriatric care for our Hoosier older adults. IGS encourages our members to collaborate with the American Geriatric Society on policy issues affecting the care of older adults and to explore opportunities to build community relationships through shared interests and education.

Our Focus

  • Enhancing the Visibility of Geriatric Medicine in Indiana
  • Contributing on Policy Issues to the National Association
  • Providing Local Educational Program in Geriatrics
  • Promoting Interdisciplinary Care of Older Adults

The Indiana Geriatrics Society (IGS) received the Council of State Affiliate Representatives (COSAR) Public Policy Grassroots Program Award for their work as a grassroots advocate for Indiana members and for past participation in AGS public policy initiatives. The award also recognized the potential for IGS to further AGS' legislative objectives with federal policy makers, willingness to travel to Washington, DC in order to meet with elected officials, and a commitment to maintain contact with members of congressional delegations and staff after hill visits are completed.
